Themes will not always be cut and dry. Since this is to help spur our creative juices, some of the themes will be open for interpretation.

Got my EX+ D50 delivered today from keh.com, and I was all excited to take it with me to Thanksgiving dinner. It’s in beautiful cosmetic shape, not a mark on it; came with the box and everything else. Then I snapped on a lens and started taking test shots and:
they all look like that. I reset the camera, tried different qual/WB settings and everything. Fock :wtc:
keh is supposed to be reputable (I thought), so hopefully they will take care of this for me. For now, it’s back to D40 purgatory.

Im expanding my horizons for video, and needed something where i can manually control exposure in the nightclubs. d300s wont cut it anymore. So i will compare the two and probably be putting my d300s up for sale, if the IQ and video quality are up to par.

a friend had one at a party the other night. Used it for a bit, seemed really nice.
Thing was huge, 77mm front element… Seemed to focus pretty accurately and quick, but I haven’t seen any real images from it..
For $350, it seems like a decent deal…

So, my friend was putting on a battle of the beats and wanted me to shoot it. I think this turned out a lot better than my last attempt, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. The hardest part was shooting people on s***e. I tried to use a flash, but it didn’t really work out, so I used my 50 f1.8 wide open at iso 1600. I felt kind of limited with my xti because the max iso is 1600 and it is really noisy. Here are some of the shots.

My friend is doing another one in february and wants me to shoot that. I think next time, I’m going to put a flash on the s***e and fire it wirelessly. I just need to get some wireless flash transmitters.

Lightroom questions… good ، Lightroom questions… good
I haven’t used Lightroom in a long time. I have two years worth of pics that I want to organize and I want to make some changes in how I used to do things. Few questions…
1. If I remove a folder from Lightroom, are the keywords and ****data lost? I want to reorganize my library and for me it just seems easier and less of a clusterfuck by deleting the folders and readding.
2. I currently have my library on an external drive. Is there a way to make it so a low quality version is stored in the database on the computer so I can still view web quality pics in Lightroom without having the drive connected?
3. Do you guys have any developer presets that you use a lot that work well most of the time?
