I’ve been doing some jobs over the last few years and have been always paid using PayPal.

Lately, my income from this hobby has been increasing. Some logo/branding jobs range from $200 to over a $1000.
Most of my prior income (logo contests) was used to buy things online: computers and other equipment so I hardly ever transfered any to my bank account.

But now I have quite a bit of money sitting my PayPal account and want to send it to my bank account to invest in other things. Wouldn’t my bank be suspicious of me sending large amounts of money into my account?

I’m currently registering a business name and making a new website. I’ve been dealing more with local clients and need to start taxing this stuff.
I have actually set aside about $2k just in case I get screwed over later on.

Would anybody be able to tell me how I should go about accounting for all my transactions? Also, if I win a contest (99designs or whatever), how do I go about taxing it?

Here’s what I own:

Nikon 14-24mm 2.8
Tamron 28-75
Nikon 85mm 1.4g
Nikon 50mm 1.8D
Tamron 90mm macro
nikon 80-200mm 2.8

The 50 is fucked. Not sharp at all, been dropped a bunch of times. Still works though. Got a couple of nice shots with it at the wedding I just shot…

Considering upgrading that to the 50mm 1.4.

Also considering the 28mm 1.8

Do I really need a 28mm if I already have the 14-24? Is it possible for the 28 to be sharper than the 24? Prolly not…

What about a 35mm f2? halfway between the 24 and the 50?

This will be a $500 or less purchase, so these are the lenses i’m considering:

Sigma or Nikon 50mm 1.4
Sigma 28mm 1.8
Nikon 35mm f2D

Snow + B&G = cool good ، Snow + B&G = cool good

Kinda cool in more ways than one. It was 33 degrees this morning when I shot this. Raleigh rarely gets much snow, especially this time of year. The bride was a real sport to get out in the cold.

This couple only wanted a few photos. They hired me for an hour. I guess they didn’t have a photographer at their wedding so they wanted me to capture a few shots. She had seen a photo I did of another bride at this bridge and wanted me to recreate the shot. I was happy to oblige….except the original photo was shot in late May.
