Cliffs on how it’s done/what it costs/how it works?

OTAP is always ballin’ unlike me :hs:
However I’ve spent my coin on other **** and am after some wireless triggers. I watched OneLight Workshop, got me thinking into getting a 2nd hand old school flash for $10, and some triggers to practice more.
Yongnuo RF-602 Remote Flash Trigger $60.
Any one use these? any limitations/problems that I’ll encounter? i’m not going for rapid fire, so even if its 2/3 2nd recycle I’d be ok. I’ve found a flickr thread but this was about the old model 🙁

Wow so the manual for this thing is MIND NUMBING. Thanks to Jared’s help, he pointed me to the Jrx Studio with the cube.
I figured out how to get my sb-600 to fire and control the flash output.
1) Should I turn the stand-by off on the sb-600? It seems that when it goes in to stand-by, you have to fire a shot on the camera to wake it up.
2) Anything special to set on the receiver/transmitter? I have all dip switches set down. I don’t think I have a need for grouping, and the default channel seems fine.
Any tips/info would be appreciated. Now I have to order some more equipment for my 2nd sb-600 :bowdown:

OTAP "next assignment" – idea? good ، OTAP "next assignment" – idea? good
I’ve seen the various assignments with people posting pictures that fit a theme. Has there every been an assignment where people take the SAME picture and see who can make it look the best (photoshop, lightroom)…creative color adjustments, etc? Afterall this is ART and Photography. Right?
I think it would be an interesting "assignment".
Get a picture in raw format with the object in the center of the image (not using the rule of thirds). Use this as the "specimen". With the object centered, you would still have the creative freedom to creatively crop the image – essentially putting it back on the thirds grid if you wanted to. Creative lighting, coloration, effects…seems like we could come up with some pretty interesting "final products".
