I have some nice pictures that I would like to print out to give as holiday gifts.
Any suggestions on what type of printer to use? I know I could take the pictures to Target or somewhere and have them do it, but what fun is that? I have access to both Inkjet and a HP Color Laser printers.

Hey guys. I’m about to pull the trigger on a monitor calibrator. Does this specific model make your monitor the correct brightness (the closest you’ll get to prints)? I know that most of the people on the internet don’t have calibrated monitors, but I want mine to be as "standard" as possible.

More Moo Cards stuff good ، More Moo Cards stuff good
So, last week I posted a review on my blog along the same lines as the thread I posted in here about my Moo Cards "experience". Got 30-40 hits in a day, then it died down.
Then over the weekend, I had another spike in my Analytics. The weird thing about it though, it was about 40 hits over a 2 day spread… and more than half the hits were from London, England where Moo is based. Didn’t think anything of it and just passed it off as a "Hey look, they noticed".
Then today on my way to work, I get the following email.

I guess it could be a good or bad thing – and I haven’t replied yet – but I posted the same thread as I posted here on Fred Miranda forums and it seems others have the same issue as mine w/ the 300dpi JPEG thing. I just find it pretty neat that they actually care what others write about them and they take the time to follow up and try to correct the problem. I like them for being proactive in the problem and trying to solve it. Hell… maybe I’ll get free cards from them. :x:
If this turns out to be something really positive, I’ll still do business w/ them and send them as many people as I know.

I was called into my boss’s office last Friday. I’m being laid off as of the first of the year. I knew this was coming as we had discussed when I might retire, but I didn’t know when. I was hoping to make it to next October but they want to use my position to hire a writer. My value as a producer/director/cameraman has been limited as we transgressed into more multi-media jobs.
That’s the good news.
Because now I’ll be free to grow my photography business without any constraints.
My kids are grown and out on their own.
My home will be paid for and I can retire debt free.
I have all the camera **** in the world.
I have my health.
Life is good.
